Dawud taught me critical thinking skills. I was a member in a youth program he gave birth to. For the first time in my life, I had experienced the joy and seriousness of thinking about my community. We all have great value, something that should be a pleasure to share with the next man, woman, or child. That is what Dawud has shown me. If I am always thinking like a pessimist, where shall I find time to contemplate the beauty of growth?
David Lee has always been an inspiration to me. How can the world overlook a man who has made it a priority to learn how to read, write, and comprehend historical wisdom that has taught us how to become a success for more than ourselves?
To many, Dawud has been a father, teacher, uncle, friend, and mentor, but to me he has always carried himself like an angel. May God bless him with freedom.
